Last week, we talked about adding scripting support to ReadySuite – and prior to that, we covered some Relativity platform integration features. We want to expand more on the Relativity features and highlight how ReadySuite can now import data directly into Relativity. Using ReadySuite to import data into Relativity, users can bypass the need for the RDC (Relativity Desktop Client) and take advantage of ReadySuite’s ability to edit and view load files.
Let’s see the Relativity export feature in action:
In the scenario above, we have a Concordance DAT file with several fields – including DOCID, DATESENT, TIMESENT, DATERCVD, and TIMERCVD. The template for our Relativity workspace requires a single field for populating the date and time values for each respective e-mail received or sent metadata field.
To accomplish merging DATESENT and TIMESENT into a single field – we use the ReadySuite script ‘Merge Date Fields’ to easily combine these values.
After the script is executed, you’ll see a new DATETIMESENT and DATETIMERCVD field added to the document grid. Next, we’ll connect to Relativity, set the workspace, and push the fields into an overlay applied to the Relativity workspace.
As previously talked about, we support connecting to Relativity with saved URLs and credentials for multiple Relativity instances. Saving the password is optional – and if you opt to save it, it will be protected under the local users account using Windows Data Protection.
After selecting a Relativity workspace, you can choose the import mode similar to the RDC. However, we are using Create and Create/Overlay to represent the respective Append and Append/Overlay settings shown in the RDC.
There are several base fields available you can populate – for example, the Folder field, Native field, and Text/OCR field. Because we are using the Relativity Import API here, setting the native path will either upload the linked native file in ReadySuite to Relativity or it will set the file link if it’s already in the repository.
Finding additional fields to populate in Relativity is also made easy – using our field map. We display both the available fields in ReadySuite and the fields from Relativity that can be set. Once you have your field map setup, you can save the list to a profile to retrieve for use again later.
We’re still targeting support for Relativity 9.5 and 9.6 when we release our next major update. If you’d like to help test integration with your environment, please e-mail justin@compiled.com to get started.
